The “Technikerprojekt” was my final project as a goldsmith in the “Evangelisches Gymanasium und Werkschulheim”. I decided to build a “mini cam” as a pendant in form of a functional camera.
The cage is made of three different materials: silver, wood and acrylic glass. The silver is on the front side, opposite the acrylic glass on the back, which allows you to see the workings of the camera. The wood is on the sides. The entire construction is screwed together on the front and back. This makes the camera easy to disassemble for repairs or changes.
A further feature makes it possible to exchange the acrylic glass with plates designed from different materials. I insert a catch so a side frame of the camera can be moved and the acrylic glass can be exchanged. This also hide the camera’s charging plug from the outside.
